How do I create a "hanging indent"?

Answer

Properly formatted citations on an MLA Works Cited page or an APA References page will all have what's called a "hanging indent" where lines following the first line of each entry are indented. Word processing programs like Microsoft Word and Google Docs will all do this formatting for you--to avoid frustration do not attempt to do it manually with the space bar!
