Where can I get help with citing my sources?
Answer
There are RCC Library research guides available for APA Style, MLA Style, and Chicago/Turabian Style citations.
You can also contact a librarian for assistance with any part of citing, from knowing when to cite to knowing how to format in-text citations and lists of references. We're always happy to help.
Your instructor will likely require a particular citation style. Most classes at RCC use either APA or MLA style. Your assignment and/or syllabus should contain this information.
Citing your sources for not just direct quotations, but also any evidence or ideas that you draw on for your own academic work is crucial to avoiding plagiarism, which is required by RCC's Academic Integrity Policy. Information rewritten in "your own words" by paraphrasing or summarizing still must be cited.
